Cascade County Divorce Records
Divorce cases, legally known as dissolution of marriage under Mont. Code Ann. § 40-4-101 et seq., are handled by the Eighth Judicial District Court in Cascade County. As a case progresses, the court creates records reflecting petitions and responses, requests, claims, counterclaims, arrangements and settlements, and judicial decrees.
The general public can review case dockets online through the DC Public Access Portal or order certified decrees directly from the District Court Clerk. Other divorce filings may or may not be accessible, depending on what they contain. Courts often seal confidential agreements between former spouses, while financial and private personal information is already protected under existing laws.
